| More than a 100 people listened and danced to live Cuban music May 2 at a dinner and concert that benefited Resounding Joy Inc., a nonprofit group that uses music to help adults and children with special needs. The money will be used to support existing programs of Resounding Joy and to expand outreach efforts into San Diego County, said Dr. Barbara Reuer of Carmel Valley, a music therapist who is executive director of the nonprofit organization. Resounding Joy uses music to promote the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being of people throughout the region, from nursing home residents, elder day-care clients and babies and toddlers of teen parents to people who are homeless or have HIV/AIDS.
