Resounding Joy Appreciates Shanna Trenholm, Grant Writer |
Shanna Trenholm, a native of San Diego, is a writer / grant writer and consultant. She has been working with Resounding Joy since 2007. Her business, Trenholm Writing & Consulting, serves a variety of nonprofits, businesses, and individuals. Shanna has worked for and with nonprofits since 2003, when she returned to San Diego from Portland, Oregon. Upon her return, she signed on with Literacy AmeriCorps and spent a year in service at Saint Vincent de Paul Village teaching adults how to read and facilitating a variety of learning labs and core curricula classes. She joined Literacy AmeriCorps, often described as a domestic Peace Corps, to, "give back to the San Diego Community" and to move in a different direction from her previous fashion and retail management career. "I knew I wanted to work with nonprofit organizations, but I had no idea this is where that desire would take me when I was making the transition," she said. "Having my own business allows me to offer a variety of services to a diverse group of clients. I love what I do!" Working with Resounding Joy has been a great pleasure for Shanna. She has been instrumental in developing the organization's grant-writing program as well as advising both the staff and board. Shanna recently delivered a fund raising presentation to the Resounding Joy board of directors. Shanna believes in the Resounding Joy mission and is impressed with the dedication of the board and staff. "Resounding Joy is young, but growing," she remarked. "I see great things on the horizon for the organization." When Shanna is not working, she is practicing yoga (she will complete a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course in October), actively promoting and teaching social media skills, riding her bike, and wistfully dreaming of travel. When her schedule lightens up a bit, she'd like to see Croatia and Slovakia and return to Paris and Prague, her two favorite cities. Shanna Trenholm, CFRM 2911 Adams Avenue #4 P.O.
